On the topic of stuff to buy, Ben from Jeonnam Life has some hangeul and hanja designs available on shirts, mugs, hoddies, boxers, and other products, available here. He's got a whole line of Korea, Suncheon, and Jeollanam-do products, as well as "quirky" ones. This one is pretty sharp:

There was a show on KBS about a week ago where they had a few foreigners get together in an old house to talk about something boring that I can't remember, but followed up afterward by giving them each maps of the Korean Peninsula whereupon they had to colour in South Korea. They made a really big deal with those that didn't colour in 독도 but 백령도 and the other islands around it weren't even on the map to colour in.
I'd like to see how many Koreans know where those three islands are when given a blank map. Almost the size of Ulleung-do and I was there for a full six days, but nobody seems to know where it is.
